St. Helena is the place to be the first Friday night of each month. Stores stay open late, restuarants have outdoor dining and specials and all the wineries come into town to pour. There are several bands and Hunt and Adams are closed off to create Lounges.
Jack and I will be pouring in front of Flying Carpet. Hope to see you there. 6-9PM

Pixie Woods Wine Festival
We will be pouring at the Pixie Woods Wine Festival next week. This is a really fun event where you can dress up or come as you are. The setting is the children's playground which benefits from the profits from the event. There is always great food and lots of wine from a variety of California Appellations.

Omaha and Rapid City
I am home from a great trip to Omaha, NE and Rapid City, SD.
May 16th we poured our Cabernet and Petite Sirah at the Omaha Wine Company open house. There were ten wineries present and the wines were poured by the vintners and winemakers. As always John Draney did a great job and the catering was top notch. For $25.00 customers get a beautiful glass they get to keep, taste great wines and meet the owners and winemakers, and a gift certificate to apply to their purchase. We renewed many acquaintance's and met lots of new friends. Thank you John and Vita for letting us come pour and we look forward to coming back to Omaha.
May 21st we attended our very first Wimedinner for Varozza Vineyards. Thank you MJ at The Corn Exchange in Rapid City, SD. She created an amazing four course dinner to pair with our wines.

In the beginning...
Our very first blog for Varozza Vineyards. We hope to keep everyone up to date with what is going on at the winery and in the vineyards. This is actually good timing as Jack is finally able to get out and get some work done. There was so much rain this year that we actually had a miny lake deep enough for Mallards to swim in.
Jack has been working every night to get the mowing, discing and cultivating caught up. Of course we are still having a small amount of rain here and there so the sulfuring and discing will go on for a while longer.
The vineyard loves all this rain.
We bottled the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2007 Petite Sirah as well as the 931 Napa Valley Red Wine on April 10th. Thank you to all the friends and family that came to help. Pictures are available at our website http://www.varozzavineyards.com/.
The 2008 and 2009 are still safe in barrel waiting for their turn.
