•2005 Estate Grown Petite Sirah
This wine, as with every vintage of Petite Sirah that I have worked with, has amazing color. It is dark purple with glints of blue and black. Blueberry is the dominant fruit aroma, layered with all manner of bramble berries. There is a lush creaminess of the nose, bringing blueberry pancake batter and blackberry crème brule to mind. Combined with the lush fruit notes is a sexy mesquite wood character that makes the fruit even more exotic. The mouth matches the nose well with the same concentrated fruit. The tannins are big, but have a satin, mouth filling texture. The acid balance is lovely, carrying the wine to a long and lasting finish. The fruit keeps on going and going, taking over in the end.
•2005 Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon
Blackberry and black raspberry fruits are on the forefront of this wine. It’s subtle and elegant fruit tones are enhanced by tea leaf and rich forest floor elements. There is a lovely minerality to this wine, reminiscent of wet stones and freshly rained on gravel. The mouth matches the nose well with ripe fruit characters and cigar smoke. The tannins are supple and lengthy and the acid meshes well and carries the mouth feel through to a long lasting finish.
•931 Napa Valley Red Wine
This is a lovely fruit forward and supple wine. The nose is full of ripe currant, black cherry and cassis. Elements of allspice, caramel and vanilla mingle with lilac, black tea and cola. In the mouth this wine is alive with a playful acidity. It has the srtong base of that same fresh ripe fruit in the mouth. It is a supple wine with moderate tannins that are soft and round. It has a beautifully delicate oak influence that makes it full and rich while maintaining elegance. This wine is a compliment to any meal and easily sipped on it's own.
